What does it mean if you draw a bind rune in reverse?

My experience in the occult is very limited due to the short time and limited resources available to me so i don't know what it means to reverse a bind rune, particuarly the "wolf hook" bind rune. i ask because i have been using this symbol in the center of a pos(up facing) triangle inside of a circle with three lines extending off the bottom of the circle as a means of protection from "undesireable spirits". if any one can help me here i would be greatly aprreciative.
