Anyone know a movie about being on an island (prison) I think where the guy has to give blood samples?

he escapes buy building a contraption to mimic giving the the sample with an eraser (I think) and a pouch of his blood...please help! It's driving me crazy that I can't remember who is in this movie, or what the title is.
